Hi, I'm Wim, a Creative Designer from Waikato, NZ.

This is my portfolio, a small selection of work I'm proud of.

17 metre mural for Real. Depicting Tane Mahuta pushing apart Ranginui and Papatuanuku to bring light into the world. The background landscape is a 360 degree representation of the maunga throughout the Waikato as viewed from the building the mural is in. I worked closely with the cultural advisors and team from Real to get the narative and feel of this mural correct. Real is a youth mental health and wellness service provider in New Zealand.

The Real team were very overwhelmed by the end result. It brought a lot of meaning and mana to their new whare and I was honoured to recieve a taonga by way of the opening ceremony, and presentation ceremony of a Matauranga Pounamu Pendant.
See the LinkedIn article about this mural and the site opening, and also read further information in Pathways' Connections newsletter.

Mana Restore campaign for Le Va. Created in colaboration with Riot Games, creators of League of Legends, Mana Restore is a wellness campaign for helping gamers maintain their mental wellness.

A Supacolor print design for campaign shirts. The image is designed to fade into the black shirts, rather than having a harsh edge.

The logo was designed to compliment the League of Legends branding and is used for campaigns at the Armageddon Festivals and e-sports events.

Le Va polyfest inflatable dome. This 6m x 6m dome marque was designed to be a home base for people attending the Polyfest Festival in South Auckland in 2020. Le Va loved the end result, and it was a standout at the festival.
Le Va is a Pasifika workforce development organisation.

Aucklands Homeless Count brand. Ira Mata, Ira Tangata was a point in time survey of homeless in the Auckland region. The brand was developed for the Housing First Auckland project, supported by Auckland Council. They wanted a modular design that could represent all the different areas and diverse people within the region. The colours was taken directly from Housing First, but the project's brand was given it's own unique look and feel.

Pathways logo and brand.
The brand refresh of Pathways was a collaborative effort within our design team, senior Pathways leadership and Cultural advisors. The spirit of the Pathways brand is Ahakoa te aha - Whatever it takes, and each column of the pattern - Tumanako - represents the unique story/journey of someone Pathways has helped, is helping or will help. Each link is a connection made, and no links are ever left open or unconnected. Some shapes also have notches which represent difficulties or events in each journey. I shared the lead on this design project with my design peer, and took the lead on the final design graphical work of the brand. Pathways is a mental health and wellness service provider in New Zealand.

Personal trainer brand creation for Kelz Fit & Well. Kelly was after something bright and bold, that relayed the idea of transformation. She had the idea of a Pheonix and we developed a brand with colourful fire eminating from the its wings. Fire creates smoke so we also included brightly coloured smoke to the brand. All design, photography and graphic work was done by myself, and we also created a full uniform design. Kelly loves it, and the brand has been well recieved by her clients.

Atu Mai holding slide. Not here as my best piece of animation work, but with a last minute brief, the slide design and animation was created in under two hours from a static existing infographic. It was displayed as a holding slide for a wellness conference. The client was extremely happy with the result and it was well recieved at the conference.

Atu Mai is a programme run by Le Va.
